Angel Cake

Ingredients

• • Maida - 1 cup
• • Sugar (powdered) - 1 ½ cups
• • Eggs whites - 12
• • Creams of tartar - 1 teaspoon
• • Salt - ¼ teaspoon
• • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
• • Lemon & orange essence/Almond essence - ½ teaspoon

Ingredients For Topping

• • Desiccated coconut - 1 cup
• • Vanaspati - 3 tablespoons
• • Sugar - 5 tablespoons

Method

• 1. Sieve maida and mix with powdered sugar.
• 2. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, till stiff.
• 3. Add essence and flour. Blend thoroughly.
• 4. Bake in a moderate oven till light brown on top.
• 5. After removing from fire, mix the topping together, apply on top and grill till golden brown.
