Aloo Ka Achar

Ingredients
•
Potato (small)
- ½ kg
•
Tamarind
- small lemon size
•
Salt
- 1 tablespoon
•
Chilly powder
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Yellow mustard
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Aniseeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Oil
- ¼ cup
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Asafoetida powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
Method
1.
Cook
potatoes
,
peel
the skin and
cut
into four.
2.
Soak
tamarind
in just enough
water
, squeeze,
strain
to
get
.
3.
Heat
oil
in a pan
add
seasonings
and
tamarind
extract.
4. Allow to
boil
and then
add
turmeric powder
,
aniseed
, and
mustard
.
5.
Boil
for few more minutes and then
add
potatoes
,
salt
,
chilly powder
.
6.
Cook
until thick or
oil
oozes out from pickle.
Remove
from fire.
7. Allow to cool, and
store
it in a bottle.
8. Use as a side dish for chapati or cooked rice.
