Ingredients
•
New rice
- 1 cup
•
Milk
- 10 cups
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Jaggery (powdered)
- ¼ cup
•
Ghee
- 3 tablespoons
•
Cashew nuts
- 2 tablespoons
•
Raisins
- 1 tablespoon
Method
1.
Prepare
pongal as mentioned in the previous recipe.
2.
Cook
green gram
dal
separately in enough
water
till soft.
3.
Add
to pongal when it is three fourth cooked.
4. When the
rice
is cooked and pongal is thick,
add
jaggery
little by little and
stir
till completely dissolved.
5.
Remove
from fire.
6.
Heat
ghee
separately and
fry
cashew nuts
and
raisins
.
7.
Pour
over pongal with
cardamom powder
.
8.
Mix
well and
serve
hot.
Note
•
Fry
whole
cardamom
in little
ghee
till good smell comes.
• Cool and
powder
finely.
Cardamom powder
prepared this way gives more flavour to the dish.
