Tomato Sambar

Ingredients

• • Red gram dal (cooked) - ½ cup
• • Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
• • Salt - as required
• • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
• • Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons
• • Tomatoes (chopped) - 2
• • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
• • Coriander leaves - a little

Ingredients For Frying In Oil And Grinding Together

• • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
• • Green chillies - 7
• • Tomatoes (chopped) - ¼ cup
• • Coconut (grated, fresh, prepare: add coconut while grinding) - 2 tablespoons

Method

• 1. Mash dal well.
• 2. Add other ingredients with ground paste and enough water.
• 3. Boil till raw flavour is lost.
• 4. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
