Deep Fried Crispy Coconut Poli

Ingredients For Outer Covering
•
Maida
- 1 cup
•
Chiroti rawa
- ¾ cup
•
Oil/Ghee (for deep frying)
- as required
•
Kesar colours
- a pinch
Ingredients For Filling
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 cup
•
Cashew nuts (powdered)
- ¼ cup
•
Sugar
- 1 cup
•
Chiroti rawa
- 1 tablespoon
•
Ghee
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
Method To Make The Dough
1.
Mix
maida
,
rawa
, 2 teaspoon of
oil
, a
pinch
of
salt
,
kesar colour
together, in a bowl.
2.
Add
water
little by little and knead to a stiff dough.
3.
Keep
closed for 10 minutes and knead again till dough becomes pliable.
Method To Make The Filling
1.
Mix
chiroti rawa
, grated
coconut
, chopped
cashew nuts
and
sugar
in a large bowl nicely until everything is nicely mixed and
keep
it aside for 2-3 hours.
2. Now the
mixture
would have become wet and soft.
Mix
it nicely again.
3. Grease your palms with
ghee
and
make
big lemon size balls out of the filling and
keep
them aside.
Method To Make Coconut Poli
1.
Prepare
small balls from
maida
dough.
2.
Keep
one
coconut
ball inside each and
cover
it properly.
3. Apply little
oil
to plastic sheet and pat the ball to medium sized circle.
4.
Heat
oil
in a kadai and deep
fry
poli turning over on both sides till crisp.
5.
Drain
off excess
oil
after
removing
from fire.
